Train strike in Italy October 2011 | Print |  E-mail

Trenitalia, the Italian national rail line, is planning on having a strike on October 21, 2011.  The hours planned are from 9 am to 5 pm (09:00 to 17:00).  Please keep that in mind if your travels take you to Italy during this time-frame.  Many times, strikes in Italy are called off at the last minute, and many of them never occur.  I will post more information on this site as it becomes available.

Hi Phil,

thanks for responding. Yes, the unfortunate thing about Italy is when these strikes occur. It's a real inconvenience when they happen.

We went to Italy last week and all of our family in Rome were so impressed with our Italian skills they bought English for themselves.

Good thing that there is an advanced advisory on this strike so that people can be guided especially those who may have some business in Italy on that day.

I am actually scheduled to be in Italy to meet my suppliers but it would be towards the end of October so I think I won't be affected at all.
