Festa della Salute - Venice, Italy

Every year on November 21st

Literally this means a festival of health, but it is not a health fair or expo as you might imagine.  This festival traces its roots back to 1631 to mark the end of a devastating plague that gripped the city.  Masses will take place at the Church of Santa Maria della Salute. A temporary bridge will cross the Grand Canal opposite the church so people can cross to light candles and attend the mass.

This is not a very "touristy" festival or one that is very widely-celebrated, but it still is an event that will draw people to the church.
