Festa di San Nicolo, the patron saint of glass blowers, is celebrated on December 6th in Venice.  There is a procession on the water, a glassworks regatta, exhibtions, wine tasting, and even some glass blowing demonstrations.

The glass-making tradition has been part of Murano's history since the 1200's. 

Murano, a group of 5 islands off the shore of Venice.

To get there from Venice, take a vaporetto - number 41 or 42 from S. Zaccaria stop which is near St. Mark's square.  The ride should take about 1/2 hour.
